is offering this vacancy notice on behalf of its client as follows:

The client is seeking to recruit Assertive, Dynamic individuals to fill the position of:

TEMPORARY LEGAL SECRETARY

– Dispute Resolution

JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent is required to provide general secretarial and administrative support to a Partner in the Dispute Resolution Department for the period February 1st 2019 to May 31st 2019

Core Functions:

-    -   Follow up and confirm with the Court Registry regarding dates of hearings

-    -  Draft and finalise letters, email and memoranda as required

     -  Review and proof-read outgoing documents and correspondence to ensure correct grammar

     -  Receive and distribute incoming mail and other material

-    -  Photocopy or scan various correspondence, documents and other printed matter

     -  Mail, email, fax or arrange for delivery of legal correspondence to clients, witnesses and court officials

     - Liaise with clients regarding instructions and queries

     - Bind relevant documents

     - Dispatch deposit requisitions and tax invoices and follow up on payment upon approval of attorney

     -  Follow up with Title Clerks regarding searches

     -  Maintain up to date files and filing system

     - Receive and place telephone calls; take and relay messages

Minimum Requirements

-       A recognised secretarial certification or acceptable equivalent

-       At least 5 CXC General passes (including English Language) or equivalent

-       2-3 years’ experience in a similar position

-       Computer literacy and training in the use of Microsoft Word

-       Training in typing and note-taking

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

-       Knowledge of legal documents and court procedures [Civil Court]

-       Knowledge of secretarial functions

-       Computer literacy and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word

-       Knowledge of administrative and clerical systems and procedures such as word processing and records management

-       Advanced typing and note-taking skills

-       Excellent interpersonal, client service and communication skills

-       Organisational and time management skills

-       Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
